Unfortunately, today our hectic lifestyle makes us too busy and we spend many hours facing the computer or the television, acquiring bad postures that end up by affecting our vertebrae considerably. Therefore, in this article we’re going to talk about kyphosis or commonly referred as “dowager’s hump”, which is an excessive stretching of the ligaments in the spine combined with pressure on the bones in the same area. Therefore, when this condition occurs due to poor posture that we adopted for a long time, a lump-shaped hump appears at the top of the back, which leads to the formation of a curve where it accumulates fat.
What do we do to eliminate the kyphosis?
This condition tends to affect more women and it affects their physical appearance in a negative way. This problem can appear because of obesity. The good news is that as kyphosis develops gradually we can also reverse it in the same way, and that’s possible with the help of some exercises that you can do in only 5 minutes a day.
Here, we’re suggesting you some of those exercises:
- Circular movements of the shoulders
Point with your foot and straighten your back. Your arms should be hanging at each side of the body. Move the shoulders in a circular motion for 5 minutes. If you prefer can do it first with one of the shoulders and then follow with the other one.
- Stretch your arms and legs
You must adopt a posture of crawling keeping your knees and hands parallel. Raise your left arm and right leg for during 10 seconds and do the same thing with the other arm and the other leg. Repeat this exercise at least 20 times a day.
